THE WIND Software (“we”, “us”, or “our”) operates the THE WIND ERP mobile application for Android (package name: com.thewind.erp) and related web services (together, the “Service”). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices available to you when you use THE WIND ERP.
By installing or using the app, you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
2. Who this app is for
THE WIND ERP is a campus operations app used by parents, guardians, teachers, and authorised school or university staff. Accounts are issued or linked by the educational institution that subscribes to THE WIND ERP. The app is not intended for children to create accounts on their own. Where student information is shown, it is accessed by parents/guardians or authorised staff under the institution’s authority.
3. Information we collect
3.1 Account and profile information
- Login credentials (such as username or email) and authentication tokens
- Name, role (for example parent or teacher), and contact details associated with your account
- Institution / campus identifiers linked to your account
3.2 Academic and school operations data
Depending on your role and permissions, the app may display or process:
- Student identity and enrolment details linked to a parent account
- Attendance, timetable, homework, results, notices, and leave records
- Fee and payment status information where enabled by the institution
- Teacher class assignments, marks entry, and parent messaging (for staff users)
This data is primarily stored and managed by the institution’s THE WIND ERP system. The mobile app retrieves and displays it for authorised users.
3.3 Location information
With your permission, THE WIND ERP may access approximate or precise device location
(Android permissions: ACCESS_COARSE_LOCATION, ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION)
to help set a home pickup pin for school bus / transport alerts. Location is used only
for this feature when you choose to enable it. You can deny or revoke location permission
in your device settings; core app features that do not need location will continue to work.
3.4 Device and usage information
- Device type, operating system version, and app version
- Basic diagnostics such as crash reports or connectivity errors (if enabled)
- Session and security logs needed to keep accounts safe
3.5 Information we do not sell
We do not sell your personal information. We do not use the mobile app to serve third-party behavioural advertising.
4. How we use information
- Authenticate users and maintain secure sessions
- Provide campus features such as attendance, homework, fees, notices, leave, and messaging
- Support school bus / pickup pin features when location is enabled
- Improve reliability, security, and customer support
- Comply with legal obligations and protect against misuse
5. How we share information
We may share information only as needed to operate the Service:
- Your educational institution — the school/college/university that administers your account and student records
- Service providers — hosting, email delivery, or infrastructure partners who process data under our instructions

We do not share personal data with unrelated third parties for their own marketing.
6. Data storage and security
Data is transmitted over encrypted connections where supported. Authentication tokens may be stored securely on your device (for example using platform secure storage) so you can stay signed in. We apply reasonable administrative and technical safeguards, but no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.
Institutions control how long academic records are retained in THE WIND ERP. Mobile session data can be cleared by signing out or uninstalling the app.
7. Children’s privacy
THE WIND ERP may display information about students who are minors to their parents, guardians, or authorised school staff. We do not knowingly allow children to create independent accounts for the purpose of marketing to them. If you believe a child’s data has been provided inappropriately, contact us and we will work with the institution to address the issue.
8. Your choices and rights
- Update profile details through the app or by asking your institution’s administrator
- Revoke location permission in Android Settings → Apps → THE WIND ERP → Permissions
- Sign out to remove local session tokens
- Request access, correction, or deletion of personal data by contacting us and/or your institution (institution-managed records may require the school’s approval)
9. Third-party services and links
The Service may open links to institution websites, maps, payment pages, or support channels. Those services have their own privacy practices. This Policy applies only to THE WIND ERP and THE WIND Software-operated services described here.
10. International users
THE WIND Software is based in India. If you access the Service from another country, your information may be processed in India or in regions where our hosting providers operate.
11. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Effective date” at the top will change when we do. Continued use of the app after an update means you accept the revised Policy. Material changes may also be communicated in-app or by email where appropriate.
